Picking "Apples"

Well, not really. But this is a picture of Autumn trying to pick imaginary apples off of every tree we walked by on our way back to the car at Barnesville's Buggy Days a couple weeks ago.

Today...

Today is all about finishing cookies for the party and getting a little rest. (Didn't get to sleep till around 7:00 AM--ugh)

Spent about 3 hours on the phone this morning.

Looking kinda doubtful that I'll make it to my family's Thanksgiving this year, but I may be going to IN for a couple weeks in February. We'll see.

Paint...

...is kind of a pain.

  1. I need to repaint Autumn's room because it is becoming the office. Kills me because we spent WEEKS painstakingly measuring out the stripes and taping stuff off to paint it in it's current stripes.
  2. I need to paint our current room because the walls are dirty and nasty and Autumn's going to be moving in there.
  3. I need to paint the kitchen because most of the walls are covered in ugly peel and stick contact paper. (Yes, I'm serious.) And the rest are a very ugly shade of green flat paint.
  4. I need to paint the 1/2 bath because the color is awful and again old flat paint that can't be washed, which is a real pain in the bathroom.
  5. I will soon need to paint our new room (assuming the remodel starts on time)
  6. I need to paint the office/craft room/guest room just because.

And what have I gotten done? The kitchen ceiling. That's it. But it looks a lot better creamy off white than it did ugly green. :-)

"Beep Up!"

Matt and I think this is really funny.

It's how Autumn says "wake up." Matt will pretend to be asleep and she'll say "Daddy night-night" or "Daddy nap" then she jumps on him and says "Daddy, beep up! Daddy, beep up!!!" until he wakes up. :-)

Sure...

...That this is a good thing. :-)

www.goodreads.com

Not sure if it's a good thing...

...but Autumn loves Matt's music. :-)

Thomas the Tank Engine...

...or what my idea of a cute girly birthday party has now turned into.

Autumn is OBSESSED with trains. Everything is a train--several books laid out in a line on the floor, ribbon spools stacked one on top of another, packages of diaper wipes, food on her highchair tray. Seriously. Everything.

And she NEVER stops talking about trains.

And so, my idea of a girly party has turned into Thomas decorations and Thomas toys. And trains and Thomas videos for presents.

Sigh.

After Shots

My favorite picture from our finger painting. :-)

Afterwards she was such a mess she got to play in the pool. Notice the "Autumn, will you smile for the camera?" face.

Finger Paints

Just realized I never posted these...
Things just kept getting messier as we went along.
Autumn seemed to enjoy it, but she was very very serious about her artwork.

Good Thing for Today...

...sugar free angel food cake from the Kroger bakery (on mark-down of course ;-))

Oh, and when I was making dinner for Matt to take to work, it was making me hungry. Home-made pita chips with spices and sea-salt, hummus with paprika and some olive oil drizzled on top, and a little salad of chopped tomatoes, onion, and cucumber. Yum! :-)

Some Beach Pictures

I'm not even going to attempt to upload these in order since Blogger always changes it anyway.

"Runnin' On the Beach"--Matt and Autumn had a little song they did for this everytime. Totally spontaneous photo op of the cousins all standing on the edge of the water.

Please be Praying

Yesterday we got the news that the wife of one of my good friends from college has passed away. She has been in continual pain lately in her battle with Leukemia. Please be praying for her husband, my friend, Brandon and for their son, Gary.

More Pics coming soon

I'll try to get beach pictures up tomorrow.

Last Charleston Pics

It was SOOOO hot while we wandered the town. Last thing before we left, we stopped in a little shop for the BEST gelato. Autumn got a teeny tiny cone...and then stole ours from the dish Matt and I were sharing.

So tired after walking the town--on our way home.

More Charleston Pics

Random photo through someone's garden gate on our tour.

houses on the battery

loved the gorgeous window boxes all through town

Autumn thought the best part was hiding in the cupboards in our hotel suite and jumping out at us.

Yes, we are okay :-) -- Charleston Pics

Sorry it's been so long since the last update! :-) We went on vacation and then came home to very limited internet (apparently the cable was fried in a storm). And then this last week I was gone Thursday-Sunday at a retreat.
So there's a bit of an explanation.
Now for some pictures....
We had an extra day of vacation after the beach, so we went to Charleston and stayed Saturday night there.
No real reason for this one, I just loved these houses.

The Circular Congregational Church

Sweetgrass Baskets--these are everywhere you look. A heritage craft, these are made by Gullah women and there are little booths set up EVERYWHERE, including all along the highway.

Yeah, it's gross, but it made a cool picture. :-)
